Polly and the band will be appearing at this year’s Wakestock Festival on the beautiful Lleyn Peninsular in North Wales.
The music festival, which is linked with a World Series wakeboarding event, regularly attracts crowds in excess of 20,000.
Polly and the band will be sharing the main stage on Sunday July 4th with The Ting Tings, The Futureheads and Band of Skulls.
After their success at SXSW and with invites to appear at Great Escape and Liverpool Sound City festivals in May, Polly and the band have announced that their first UK tour will take place in September 2010. Dates and venues are currently being firmed up for the Northern leg of the tour which will take in Liverpool, Preston, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester.
Polly and the band have received an invitation to perform at the SXSW Delegate Welcome Dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel on the opening night of SXSW 2010. They will be doing an acoustic set which will be the first performance of SXSW 2010 to an audience of over 250 music executives from around the world…. see Polly’s blog for more SXSW news.
3oth January sees the release of the band’s eagerly anticipated debut E.P.
Produced by Danny Woodward at Liverpool’s Whitewood recording studios, the E.P. contains the tracks The Wall, I Don’t Mind, Silent Film and the anthemic Leave Me Out… which is available as a free mp3 for a limited period if you subscribe to the band’s Mailing List.
Polly and the band are in the studio throughout January recording their debut E.P. which is, as yet, untitled.
The band are working with producer Danny Woodward (The Wombats, Hot Club de Paris, Ladytron) at Liverpool’s Whitewood Recording Studios. Polly and the band have been busy writing new material thoughout the winter months and the real challenge has been to decide which four tracks should make it onto the E.P!
A single from the E.P. will be released to coincide with the band’s appearance at SXSW 2010 in Texas in March.
Polly and the band are in the studio during January recording tracks for their debut E.P.
The band then head to London to appear at HMV’s inaugural Next Big Thing Festival…. a 10-day event held across some of London’s most high profile music venues at which the best of the UK’s emerging musical talent will perform.
The band join a festival lineup that includes Paloma Faith, Mystery Jets, Ellie Goulding, Marina & the Diamonds, Little Comets and Chew Lips. Polly and the boys will showcase at The Borderline on 8th February with The Plasticines and Daisy Dares You.
Polly and the band head off across the big pond in March to perform atSXSW 2010 in Austin, Texas…. the world’s largest music festival.
The band’s visit to SXSW coincides with the release of the first single to be taken from their debut E.P… which is in final stages of production. The band’s full schedule for SXSW will be published in late February… so watch this space for details or subscribe to the band’s Mailing List.
